I don’t like to put a restrictive number on it, but typically time allows for about 4. I encourage you to have fun with it! Feel free to bring a couple extra options in case I feel one may not photograph the best or we have some extra time.

I HIGHLY recommend to get your makeup professionally done. In my experience, a great makeup application will actually make you look more natural than if heavy retouching is needed. I will provide makeup artist recommendations. If you are nervous about using a makeup artist, feel free to set up a trial appointment before your session. As for hair styling, I recommend doing whatever you’re most comfortable with. Unlike makeup, hair is difficult to tweak at the time of your appointment in case you don’t like something.

NOTE: Be sure your hair/makeup appointments are early enough to make sure you’re on time for your session.

As a natural light photographer, I rely on good weather to create the best images possible. If it’s overly cloudy, rainy, or there’s a heat advisory, we’ll look at rescheduling your session. I try to keep a few flexible days open each week, and if possible, your rescheduled session will take place within a week of your original date.

Of course, the weather can be unpredictable, but don’t stress—I’ll make sure you love your photos! :)

Most of our session will focus on capturing natural, beautiful portraits, but please feel free to bring props - something that might make your session more personal and uniquely you. Don’t be shy if you have a fun idea! I’m totally open to trying anything! :)

There are gorgeous picture-perfect days in Iowa from May through October. I would just schedule on a week that you know you'll have some flexibility in case the weather forces us to reschedule.

While I don't have a dedicated indoor space, studio locations may be available upon request and add $100 to the Session Fee.
